Can I Install a 22110 NVMe Drive in a 2280 Slot?

I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to install my M.2 22110 NVMe drive in the 2280 slots available on my motherboard. Most brackets I've seen can only help with installing smaller drives into bigger slots, but I need something to help me fit my larger drive into a smaller slot. Does anyone know if an M.2 reducer exists or what my options are?

One option you have is to use an M.2 extension cable, which allows you to connect your longer SSD and place it wherever you need to. Just a heads-up, it might not look the best, but it can work!

I guess that's the most viable option now. Thanks!

So, NVMe drives come in various sizes like 30, 42, 60, 80, and 110mm. While it's possible to fit a smaller SSD into a larger slot using an extension, going the other way isn't straightforward. You'd typically need to move the standoff to the 110 position to avoid interference, which can lead to shorting issues depending on the setup. Alternatively, you could get a PCIe expansion card to install your SSD in a different slot. By the way, getting your hands on a 110mm SSD can be tricky; how did you manage to find one?

It's a Samsung P983, got it from eBay. Looks like I'll need to either get a riser for the NVMe slot or use a PCIe to NVMe card. Thanks!

For all sorts of installation issues, the knife is a perfect reducer for everything, haha!
