I'm currently in the IT field and struggling to decide on a major. I'm focusing on cloud technologies, particularly Azure, since there's a high demand for it in Canada. I also have a strong background in Unix, which I've spent a lot of time mastering. My plan is to concentrate on both, as I believe they're crucial for a DevOps role. However, I'm not interested in networking, and cybersecurity is not my top priority. Is this a good strategy?

That sounds like a solid plan! Focusing on Azure and Unix is definitely a great combination for a DevOps career. Just keep in mind that while networking isn't your favorite, having at least a basic understanding can be super helpful. You really can't escape it entirely in IT, but it sounds like you're on the right path!
Haha, I get that! It's just so much information to digest!
