How can I sync my texts from iPhone 15 to iPhone 6?

I've got a bit of a conundrum here. My main phone is an iPhone 15, but I also have this old iPhone 6 that I want to use. The settings on my iPhone 15 were changed at one point to delete messages after a year, but my iPhone 6 doesn't have that issue. I went to the Apple Store, and they helped me update my messages from 2021 to 2023 on my iPhone 6. However, when I got home, it stopped syncing. I no longer see the downloading icon on my messages app. Is there any way to get it syncing again? By the way, my iPhone 6 is on iOS 12.5.7 while my 15 has the latest updates.

Honestly, trying to sync texts from such an old device to a new one can be tricky. Given that your iPhone 6 is over ten years old, it might not handle iCloud syncing very well. If you're looking to keep your messages safe, I suggest using a tool like iMazing instead of relying on iCloud. This way, you can extract your messages from your iPhone 6 for archiving.

Interesting, can you go into more details about that? I had planned on getting all the messages on the 6 and then backing them up and downloading them to the 15.
