My Laptop Won’t Charge or Turn On After Moisture Exposure

Hey everyone, I need some help! I noticed some moisture on a few of my laptop keys. I've checked the charging adapter and the socket, and they seem fine, so I think the issue is with the charging port itself. When I plug in my adapter, it stops supplying electricity, but it works normally when it's not connected (the blue light indicates this). My laptop is completely drained now and won't turn on at all. Any suggestions on what I should do?

Just wondering, how did the moisture get on your keys? Did it just happen out of nowhere?

It sounds like you might have a short circuit due to water damage. Charging cables usually have protection in place to stop power when there’s a short, just to prevent fires. I'd recommend taking it to a repair shop rather than trying to fix it yourself—this seems like a hardware issue.

Yeah, I was thinking about water damage as well. Thanks for the advice!

Is your laptop a Dell? If so, and you’re in the USA, you can contact Partsparts-people.com for help. But since you mentioned you're not in the States, look for a local service that specializes in laptop repairs!

Haha, yeah, it’s a Dell, but I’m not from the U.S.! Gotta find an alternative!
