I'm currently downloading the new Helldivers 2 update on Steam, and while the download speed is good, the 'Updating Files' progress is stuck at 1%, showing a ridiculous 4 days remaining. I have the game installed on an NVMe SSD, so I expected the patching process to be quicker than the download itself. Does anyone know what might be causing this slowdown?

You might want to check your Windows Event Viewer for any disk read/write issues. Sometimes if a hard drive is failing, it can cause these kinds of problems. A simple reboot could help too, so definitely give that a try!
Sounds like something's stuck. I’ve had issues like this before. A hard reboot might nudge it back into action. Also, check if other games are downloading or if the update process is getting held up. I managed to download Helldivers 2 in minutes on my setup, so it should be possible!
Yeah, but I figured out that Steam chooses the write drive and not necessarily the one the game is on. It took some digging, but I found that removing my HDD libraries from Steam settings and then reinstalling the game allowed it to use the NVMe drive properly.
Yeah, but I found out that Steam doesn’t always use the drive where the game is installed for writing updates. Instead, it can choose any drive you've added to its library. I discovered that my HDD was being used for writing instead of my NVMe. Once I fixed that, the update speed shot up!
