Will a New SSD Be a Separate Drive or Merge with My Existing Storage?

I'm new to PCs and I'm curious about adding a new SSD. If I install it, will it combine its storage with my existing SSD, or will it be recognized as a separate drive? I could really use some guidance on this!

When you add a new SSD, it will show up as a separate drive in your system with its own drive letter. So, don’t worry about merging storage—each SSD will function independently. Usually, your current SSD will be assigned the (C:) drive letter, and the new one will get its own letter after you set it up.
