Is it safe to keep my phone under my pillow during an iOS update?

Last night, I dozed off with my phone under my pillow and forgot it was downloading an iOS update over LTE since I don't use Wi-Fi. I'm a bit worried because I've heard that having a phone near your head during significant data transfers might not be safe due to radiation concerns. It was under my pillow for a few hours while I slept right next to it. Should I be genuinely worried about this? I've come across opinions suggesting it's better to keep phones away during big downloads, especially without Wi-Fi, but I'm confused since many believe non-ionizing radiation isn't harmful. I'd love to hear your thoughts on how risky it really is to have my phone so close during heavy data activity.

Honestly, you're overthinking it. The amount of radiation from a phone is way less than what you get from just standing outside in the sun. If you're really that concerned, maybe just turn it off at night. But remember, you're probably more at risk scrolling through clickbait articles than from your phone under the pillow.

It sounds like you're worrying for nothing. Phones emit non-ionizing radiation that’s generally considered harmless. If you want peace of mind, just keep the phone away from your head at night, but it seems like you're fine this one time.

If you're anxious about it, just switch off the phone before bed. It’s always good to minimize exposure, and there’s no harm in being cautious, but it’s not as dramatic as it sounds.

I mean, if it freaks you out, just don’t do it again. But realistically, the radiation levels are super low, especially compared to other daily exposures. You're not likely to come to any harm from one instance.
