A friend who's completely new to coding approached me for advice on which free online coding course to start with. I suggested FreeCodeCamp, but I'm curious to know what others would recommend for someone just beginning their coding journey. Any suggestions?

I'd definitely recommend Harvard's CS50! It's a great introduction to computer science and coding, and really engaging for beginners. Give it a try!
For total newbies, maybe check out NodeJS. If they want something even more basic, they could try resources like the introduction on the Node.js website. Plus, there are great learning roadmaps out there to guide them!
If they’re looking strictly for free resources, W3Schools is really helpful for beginners. It covers HTML, CSS, and JavaScript well, plus it's easy to navigate when you're stuck on something.
I’ve used Boot.dev and found it really engaging and easy to follow for backend development. It’s interactive and keeps you motivated – definitely worth a try!
If someone can attend a community college, I'd say that's a solid option. It's not super expensive and helps build a good foundational knowledge. Just be cautious as the quality can vary, so research the courses offered first.
Yeah, I've had mixed experiences too. It’s all about finding the right program.
Totally agree! But I also found that some community college classes can be hit or miss in terms of quality. Make sure to check reviews.
