Is My 650W PSU Enough for New GPU and CPU Upgrades?

I'm planning to upgrade my build with a 5070 GPU alongside my Ryzen 7 3800X, and later switch to a Ryzen 7 5700X3D. I'm currently using a 650W PSU. I have a couple of questions: 1. Will my 650W PSU handle the power requirements for the 5070 with my Ryzen 7 3800X? 2. Once I upgrade to the 5700X3D, will my PSU still be sufficient?

I'd recommend going for an 850W PSU if you're thinking about future upgrades. It's always better to have a bit more headroom.

I already have the 650W one though.

It should work but consider upgrading to a 750W 80+ Gold PSU for more assurance, especially if you're planning to upgrade your CPU in the future.

So, will the 650W not be enough for the Ryzen 7 5700X3D?

Your 650W should be fine for now. Both setups should draw around 500-550W at maximum, which gives you some buffer.

You can estimate your components' power usage by using tools like PCPartPicker. It’s a great way to see if your current PSU can handle the load!
