Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a dilemma with my gaming setup. I built my gaming PC back in 2014 and have done some upgrades since then. It's running on an ASUS X99 motherboard with an Intel i7 processor (pretty sure it's a 4790K, overclocked to around 4.5GHz). I also have 64GB of DDR4 RAM (probably just the standard 2400MHz) and a decent SSD. My graphics card is a 3060, which seems fine for the games I'm playing, like Arkham Knight and some emulation for GameCube, Wii, and Switch. However, I'm starting to feel like my motherboard and CPU are holding me back. Would it make more sense to just upgrade the motherboard and CPU, or should I consider starting from scratch? My power supply should still be good, so looking for some advice on the best route!

It sounds like you might not have an i7-4500U since that's a laptop CPU. More likely, you have a 5000 or 6000 series i7. Upgrading both your CPU and motherboard could definitely give you a boost! What speed is your RAM though? That could also impact your performance.
It's probably just standard 2400MHz RAM in there. I'm mainly playing less demanding games, but it feels like my CPU and motherboard are really bottlenecking the GPU's performance.
