I'm trying to connect my Nintendo DS to a Wi-Fi network, but it only supports WEP encryption, which is causing some issues. I don't have an Android phone to use as a hotspot, so I'm looking for alternatives. Is there any type of dongle, Wi-Fi extender, or something else that could help? By the way, I have a Windows laptop that might come in handy for this setup.

Have you considered using your Windows laptop as a mobile hotspot? Microsoft has a guide on how to do it, which you can find here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/use-your-windows-device-as-a-mobile-hotspot-c89b0fad-72d5-41e8-f7ea-406ad9036b85. Just make sure to check the password requirements!
If possible, look for an old router that supports WEP. I usually use a trick with my Android phone to connect, but since that's not an option for you, maybe try using your laptop to set up a hotspot? I did something similar during the pandemic—instead of using my phone all day, I plugged it into my PC with a USB cable and created a hotspot from there. It saved my battery! Just look online for instructions on how to set it up.
You might be able to set your wireless router to support WEP and the 2.4GHz 802.11b connection that your DS needs. Check your router settings to see if that's an option.
Be careful, though. You might end up needing to disable the password on your Windows hotspot, which can be tricky since that option isn't always available.
