Should I choose a 144Hz or 165Hz monitor to pair with my current one?

I'm looking to add a second monitor for both work and gaming, and I'm trying to decide between a 2K 165Hz and a 2K 144Hz model. I currently have a 2K 144Hz 24-inch monitor, and I'm wondering if the difference between the two refresh rates will be noticeable when both monitors are in use. I'm concerned that even a small difference might be annoying. Also, just to clarify, I only have room for two 24" monitors on my desk, and I definitely want something better than a 1080p monitor!

Honestly, you probably won’t even notice a difference between 144Hz and 165Hz in real-world use. I cap my games at 120FPS, and once you're over that, the benefits of higher refresh rates start to diminish. Pretty much comes down to whether you're in high FPS competitive gaming or not.

Yeah, same! I’m kind of broke for an OLED so I get it.

I don't think you'll see a significant difference either. I have a 150Hz middle monitor alongside two 110Hz ones, and for the standard daily stuff, I just can’t tell them apart at all.

Really?? I thought the difference would be noticeable, especially since I switch between both monitors frequently.

Truthfully, the difference is so minor that it might not bother you. I can’t see a difference in my setup, and I bet you won't either!

If the price difference isn’t big, I’d say go for the 165Hz monitor. It’s better to invest in the higher refresh rate if you can, especially since the 144Hz isn't being produced anymore. Plus, you'll have a more up-to-date setup!

That's interesting! I actually found the 165Hz one cheaper than the 144Hz since the latter is becoming rare. It’s just like my current monitor!

In my experience, unless you’re really into competitive gaming, the difference is hardly noticeable. I used to have a dual setup with 60Hz and 120Hz, and the different tasks on each screen made it fine for me.
