How Can I Verify Bazzite ISO Without a GPG Key?

I've been trying out different Linux distributions and I've found that I really like Bazzite. However, I've noticed that it doesn't provide any GPG keys for verification like Ubuntu or Fedora do. Since I want to install it on my main PC, I'm a bit worried about its trustworthiness. Can I just use the SHA256SUM checksum for verification, or is there a better way to ensure the ISO is safe?

Have you thought about downloading the ISO via Torrent? I do that for all my ISOs since the torrent process helps check the authenticity while downloading. Just make sure to use a reliable torrent site. Also, pay attention to your BIOS settings if you're running into issues booting the ISO! Double-check the USB configuration settings.

You might want to check with the Bazzite community directly, maybe on Reddit or their support forums. There have been discussions about the lack of GPG keys, and some users might have found workarounds or verified methods. Plus, if you can find an official issue tracker, that could have more insights!

If you got the ISO from the official Bazzite site, you're probably okay! There's a lot of concern over GPG keys, but if you trust where you downloaded it from, using the SHA256SUM is a good step. It's not perfect, but it helps verify the file integrity. A little paranoia can be healthy, but don't worry too much if everything feels legit!
