I've been using Windows 10 on my PC for about three years now. My OS is on an SSD, while I keep all my games and projects on a larger HDD. I typically create projects on the SSD and back them up on the HDD. Lately, I've been hearing that sticking with Windows 10 could lead to issues down the line. A friend of mine recently got a new PC with Windows 11, and I even got a notification in Fusion 360 saying they will stop supporting Windows 10. Microsoft is also halting updates for it. I'm looking to make a decision before I dive into any big projects and before school starts up again. If I should switch to Windows 11, I could really use some help because the thought of it is nerve-wracking. My SSD has a lot of important applications on it, but most can be backed up if necessary. My main concern is not wanting to reinstall all my games on the HDD, especially since I have some 'legally' free titles saved. Can I back up my apps from the SSD to the HDD and then transfer them back afterward? I also don't want to lose any data on my HDD, and since Steam is on my SSD with my games on the HDD, I'm unsure how that will impact everything. Could anyone advise if it's worth upgrading and how I might navigate these issues?

Honestly, I wouldn't stress too much about the support for Windows 10. Microsoft has been known to walk back their decisions regarding end-of-life support. They've promised continued updates for essential services like Office 365 and Windows Defender. Just look at what happened with Windows 7 and XP! But on the other hand, if you're worried about losing access to apps you rely on, and especially if Fusion 360 is on the line, upgrading to Windows 11 might be the safer bet.
If your system meets the requirements, like having a compatible CPU and TPM 2.0, you can upgrade to Windows 11 without losing your files. But just to be safe, it's always a good idea to back up your important stuff first. While an upgrade may work, many find that a clean install of Windows runs smoother, so think about whether you'd prefer to do that instead of just upgrading.
