Why Is Only One RAM Stick Working After Installation?

Hey everyone! I recently upgraded the RAM in a PC I got from my brother. It originally had 2 sticks of 8GB, but one was not working. We thought replacing it would solve the issue, so I installed 2 new 16GB sticks. However, only one of them is being recognized, which is frustrating. I double-checked the installation and made sure everything was seated properly in the same slots as before. The slot closest to the CPU was a bit dusty, so I'm getting some compressed air to clean it out. I'm using a ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING motherboard with Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 RAM. I'm pretty new to all of this, so any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Have you tried placing the RAM sticks in the other slots? Sometimes certain slots work better for dual-channel configurations. It might be worth a shot to see if that helps with the detection.

Not yet! I thought certain slots were favored, but since all the slots look the same, I might have to experiment a bit. I’ll give that a try!
