Which CPU Should I Choose for My PC Build: Ryzen 5 5600 or Ryzen 7 5700X?

I'm putting together a PC primarily for tasks like Photoshop, Figma, and multitasking, plus I'll be gaming with titles like Elden Ring, Cyberpunk, and CoD Warzone. I'm considering the Ryzen 5 5600 for about $100 or the Ryzen 7 5700X for $140. I'm also thinking of pairing it with an RX 590 graphics card. Which CPU should I go for?

For gaming, the difference between the two isn't massive. I'm using a Ryzen 5 5600, and it holds up fine, especially at 1440p. Just keep in mind that the RX 590 isn't the strongest choice anymore, you might want to consider saving for a better GPU if you can.

True, but my current setup isn't bad and I'm okay with lower settings for now.

Go for the Ryzen 7 5700X if you can get it for $127. It's a great deal, and it gives you more power for multitasking and future-proofing your setup, especially if you ever want to upgrade your GPU later on.

Thanks! I think I will! That extra performance sounds worth it.

Honestly, if you're looking at the RX 590, which is pretty dated, I'd suggest going for the Ryzen 5 5600. That way, you can save some cash for a better GPU in the future. The RX 590 isn’t really supported in modern games anymore, and for Photoshop and multitasking, honestly, you might be okay with the 5600 even if it means sticking to basic tasks.

I get your point, but I have a tight budget too. The RX 590 will still give me decent FPS for casual gaming, and I've heard it runs my needed games on low settings pretty well.

If you're balancing costs, the Ryzen 5 5600 might be the better pick to fit the RX 590. It allows you to stay within budget while getting decent performance for your needs.
