Hey everyone, I accidentally dropped my iPhone 14 Pro in the bath! It was only submerged for about half a second, and right after I quickly towel dried it. At first, everything seemed fine – the sound works and I even played the water expelling tones. However, when I tried to charge it a bit later, it wouldn't respond. Now, I've set it aside to dry. Has anyone experienced something similar? How long do you think it will take to dry? I'm planning to check it before bed and then let it dry overnight. Thanks for any advice!

It's definitely a good idea to let it dry completely before trying to charge it again. Sometimes, even a quick dunk can lead to corrosion if moisture gets inside. If it's working fine otherwise, you might just need to give it more time. A full day or two in a dry place can help, but don’t rush it!
I dropped my phone in water once and had a similar situation. It took about 24 hours for it to dry completely, and it ended up being fine. Just remember not to plug it in until you’re sure it’s dry!
Exactly! I think I waited a day and a half before plugging mine in again, just to be safe.
Yeah, I agree! I’ve read that leaving it in a bowl of rice or with silica gel packets can help absorb any trapped moisture.
