I'm currently using an i5-13600K on a Prime B760-Plus motherboard, but I'm facing some serious issues. While CPU-Z shows the BIOS version as 1011 from 2023, AI Suite 3's EZ updater thinks it's running version 2603 from 2019, meant for a PRIME B360M-A.
I've tried updating the BIOS through the EZ updater multiple times with various files, but I keep getting the "The model of the BIOS image doesn't match the BIOS ROM currently present" error. I even attempted older BIOS versions just in case a significant version jump was problematic, but no luck there either.
I've heard I might need to install an older CPU to perform the BIOS update— is that true? I don't have a USB drive right now to manually update the BIOS, which makes me nervous about possibly bricking my system if I proceed in the BIOS. I'm just looking for a way to ensure my CPU lasts, especially since I've been getting errors with games like Avowed that won't launch for some reason. Also, I'm encountering a "Can't open AsIO.sys !!" error when trying to open both the game and the BIOS update via AI Suite 3. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, if it's really a struggle to get this BIOS updated, you might want to consider just grabbing a low-cost AMD processor for now. Intel can be a pain to deal with lately.
If you can grab a USB drive, they usually cost less than $5. It'll definitely come in handy for bios updates and other tasks in the future.
But would that still help if my CPU is the problem? I’m worried that my CPU's compatibility with the outdated BIOS is the real issue.
That's definitely my long-term plan. I want to switch to AMD eventually, just wish I could figure out how to get this game running in the meantime!
