Should I buy the Arc B580 now or wait for the 9060 XT?

I'm debating whether to grab the Arc B580 12GB while it's available at a discount or hold off for the upcoming 9060 XT with 16GB. The current price for the B580 is 275 euros, but I'm worried about its performance based on AMD's benchmarks. They show the B580 is only about 6% better than the 8GB 5060 Ti at 1440p, which I suspect might not live up to expectations, especially since the 5060 Ti is known for throttling at 1440p. I'm really curious if the 9060 XT would actually outperform the 5060 Ti or if there's a chance the B580 could hold its ground despite its lower specs. On top of that, I want to know how often 12GB will be enough for 4K games with max textures—should I be concerned about running out of VRAM? I've never owned a dedicated GPU before, so any insights would really help!

I'd say wait for the reviews on the 9060 XT before making any decisions. If you really can't hold off, getting a 5060 Ti with 16GB now could be a better bet than the B580 for 4K gaming.

In all reality, the 9060 XT with 16GB will likely outperform the B580. Manufacturers tend to be careful about sharing negative comparisons, and a 6% improvement isn't impressive for a new card.

If that's the case, why did AMD show it in such a light? Surely they'd want to portray their product as best as possible.

Neither card is really going to excel at 4K. I'd recommend bumping up your budget and looking at the 7800 XT instead if you're serious about 4K gaming.

Manufacturer charts can be misleading. I'd recommend waiting for independent reviews once the 9060 XT is out—they'll give you a clearer picture.

Not everyone is from the US, you know. In the EU, prices can be quite different, and you might find some decent deals on the B580 at MSRP. But overall, I'd suggest waiting if you can.

True, prices can vary a lot between countries, especially with VAT considered.

You could score a B580 at a good price on launch day if you're quick!

Honestly, none of those cards are really going to deliver a true 4K experience with max settings. If you're looking to play at 4K without compromising on quality, consider options like the 5070 Ti or 7900 XTX instead. You would need something high-end for smooth gameplay.

For less demanding games, you should still be able to play at 4K with max textures. Just remember, it depends on the specific titles you're playing.

What about just using max textures at lower resolutions? Will any of these cards manage that?
