I'm struggling with a network setup involving a TP-Link router (initially a Deco X50, now using an Archer C50) connected to a GWN7803P and several devices like TP-Link EAP245 WAPs, a Hikvision PoE Switch, and a Grandstream HT812. The main issue is that both the router and GWN7803P aren't correctly recognizing the devices on the network. Despite having around 30 devices according to MAC addresses on the GWN7803P, their IP addresses are often missing or incorrect. When I scan the network, I can see about 26 devices, but some of them, like a Lutron bridge, show an IP but don't function properly unless set to a static IP. Additionally, devices keep coming online and offline. I'm wondering if switching to a Grandstream GWN7003 router might resolve these issues or if that would only complicate things further. Also, is moving away from TP-Link to Grandstream a good route? Any advice would be appreciated!

It sounds like you're dealing with a pretty messy network issue here. I'd suggest starting with the basics: try disconnecting the switch and plug just a few devices directly into the router. If those devices are recognized and get IPs, the problem might lie with the switch. If that doesn’t work, check your router’s configuration. Since you've swapped routers, make sure the subnet settings match, as new devices can get lost if they’re confused about which router to connect to. A reboot of all devices can help too. Let me know if that clarifies things!
I totally get your frustration! Sometimes devices just can’t communicate well if they've been through different routers or switches. If other methods fail, you should consider simplifying your network by reducing the number of devices connected at once to determine if one of them is causing a conflict. Your idea of switching to Unifi might also be worth exploring, as their equipment generally plays well together. Keep us posted on what works!
Thanks for the suggestions! After the ISP upgrade, I've been thinking the switch might be the culprit. I'll definitely try your approach and see if that changes anything.
