I recently found my old PC tower from school and took out what I believe is the hard disk. I'm not really tech-savvy, but I'd love to recover some photos and videos from it. So, can I use this old internal hard drive as an external one? If yes, how would I go about doing that?

You can definitely make it work! There are also USB hard drive enclosures available for purchase, which are perfect for this. Just pop your hard drive in and connect it via USB. It’s pretty straightforward!
Totally! You can definitely use old hard drives as external drives. What you need is either a SATA to USB cable or, if it’s an older model, an IDE to USB converter. Just do a quick image search online to see which type you have. That’ll help you find the right cable!
Yep, that's the right one! Just grab that cable and you'll be all set.
Oh, I checked mine and it says SATA 3.0 Gb/s on the back. Does that mean I need the SATA to USB cable?
