I'm finishing my basement and planning to run an Ethernet cable to both a bedroom and the living room where the TV will be. They're on opposite sides of the same back wall. What's the best way to share one Ethernet cable between the two locations? It's kind of set up like a 'T' where the cable comes from the bottom and splits to the bedroom on the left and the TV on the right. Just to mention, I only have one port left on my router for the Ethernet cable, and I'm not very tech-savvy, but I'm hoping to do this myself to save some money. Thanks for any help!

I recommend getting a 5 or 8 port switch; you can find one for under 20 bucks on Amazon. This way, you can run two cables down to your basement rather than just one, which makes it much easier if you want to expand your setup later.
A switch is the way to go! Put one switch upstairs and another in the basement, linking them with a single cable. This setup keeps everything organized and efficient.
Definitely go with a switch instead of a splitter. If you have enough ports on your router, running multiple cables from it might be a better long-term solution, so you won’t be stuck needing more connections later on.
