Hey folks, I'm having a bit of a crisis with my company-issued Dell Latitude 3420. I powered it on without issues, logged into Windows, and then it suddenly went black and became totally unresponsive. Here are the symptoms I'm dealing with:
- The power LED is stuck on.
- The power button doesn't respond at all, even when I hold it for over 60 seconds.
- No power or signal to external peripherals (monitor via HDMI, mouse, keyboard).
- The charging indicator LED isn't lit when I plug in the charger.
- I can hear a faint hum from inside the chassis, which indicates some power is reaching the motherboard, but there's no display output, fan movement, or any signs of POST or BIOS activity.
- I've tried all the Dell reset key combinations (`Power`, `Fn+Power`, `Ctrl+Esc+Power`, etc.), but none worked.
Right now, I'm waiting for the battery to die or for HR to get back to me to see if I can disconnect the battery to try rebooting. I'm really hoping to salvage the work I've done on it, as I have a week's worth of code stored on there. Any ideas on what might have happened or how I can fix this?
