Hey everyone, I'm dealing with a frustrating issue where only 10.5 GB out of my 16 GB RAM is available when I boot up my PC. I suspect it might be due to a mistake I made when installing RAM while a fan was crammed in my case, which could have damaged one of the sticks. I've removed the fan now, but I'm worried I may have compromised my RAM. Is there any way to fix this issue, or should I just consider getting new RAM? I also want to note that this problem might have popped up after I cleaned my case—before that, I could play games like Doom fairly well for about 30 hours, but lately, I've been experiencing performance drops and crashes. Any advice would be appreciated!

It sounds like the 5.5 GB could just be used by Windows and background applications—it's pretty normal for a lot of RAM to be allocated at idle. You should check how your RAM is being utilized in the Task Manager. If there is damage to the RAM, unfortunately, the only fix is to replace it.
So it's likely an overheating issue then, right?
