I'm considering the Gigabyte 5070 for my new build since it's cheaper than the 4070 in my country. I know I should get a good CPU, and while I've heard the 7800X3D is the best, it's a bit over my budget. Will the Ryzen 7700X be sufficient? I want to game at 1440p with 180Hz support and play some AAA titles like Red Dead Redemption 2. Any advice would really help as I'm not super knowledgeable about these things.

At 1440p, you won’t see any major CPU bottlenecks. Just focus on the GPU, that's where your money should go!
Just so you know, while you can game at 1440p, hitting 180Hz on newer AAA games might be tough. For esports titles like Valorant or CS2, you're good, but in bigger games, don't expect those high refresh rates. Still, the 7700X won't hold the 5070 back!
Absolutely, the 7700X paired with the 5070 is a solid combination for 1440p gaming. You shouldn’t face any issues with bottlenecking, especially at that resolution.
A 7700X is more than capable at 1440p, so no worries there. Just manage your expectations for frame rates in the latest AAA games; they might not hit that 180Hz mark consistently.
You'll be just fine with the 7700X! Even with a Ryzen 5 7600X or something similar, you'd do alright. Instead of splurging on an expensive CPU, you might want to invest more in a better GPU.
Thanks for the reassurance! I'll keep that in mind.
That's awesome! I've been using an old laptop with a 1050, so this feels like a major upgrade.
