I'm currently running an RTX 3080 paired with a Ryzen 7 5800X3D. A friend is offering me an ASUS TUF 4070 Ti for $500. I'm considering upgrading to this GPU alongside a Ryzen 7 7800X3D. Is this a fair price for the 4070 Ti, and do you think the upgrade would be worthwhile, or should I just hold off?

The performance difference is about 21% better with the 4070 Ti, according to benchmarks. If you can grab it for less than a 21% price increase over your current setup, it might be a go. Just make sure to check how it performs in the games you play.
$500 is a solid deal for a used 4070 Ti! Just keep in mind, the upgrade from 3080 to 4070 Ti isn't huge in terms of performance. Also, upgrading to the 7800X3D won’t give a massive boost either, especially if you're gaming at 1440p. Your 5800X3D shouldn't bottleneck it too much. I'd suggest checking for any bottlenecks in your games before deciding if it's worth it.
Thanks for the insight! I'll look into those benchmarks you mentioned.
