Hey everyone! I'm an IT undergrad from India, just finished my second semester, and I'm on a two-month semester break. Right now, I'm really diving into my HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills through The Odin Project, while also tackling Leetcode for data structures and algorithms. However, after chatting with some classmates, I found out they've secured remote internships, which kind of freaked me out. I'm feeling a bit intimidated, especially since some are really skilled at coding and grasping concepts. I'm wondering if I should be looking for an internship myself or if it's better to focus on improving my skills this break. Also, I'm curious about any other skills I should consider learning to stay competitive.
Just to give you a bit of my background: I have an intermediate level in C and C++, am slightly above average in Java, can do basic data analysis with Python, and I learned HTML in high school but am currently sharpening my skills in it, along with CSS and JS. By the way, I don't think I'm quite ready for an internship yet; I'm mostly asking if it's necessary nowadays. I'd rather enhance my skills first.

Internships can be great, but don’t sweat it if you're focusing on building your skills right now. Remember, there's always someone better, and everyone has their own pace. Just keep learning—it’ll all pay off eventually!
If you can land an internship, go for it! Real-world experience is invaluable and can really enhance your skills in a practical setting. Plus, you'll build your portfolio and network, which helps in landing jobs later on.
