I'm trying to salvage some data from my old SSD, which has a Windows 10 installation on it. My previous PC is quite outdated—around 10 years old—and it won't boot up anymore; it just powers on for a moment and then shuts down. I've swapped out the CPU, but that didn't solve the issue. I want to know if it's possible to take my Samsung 960 Pro SSD and install it in a brand new PC. Will the existing Windows 10 installation on the SSD boot up fine in this new setup, or is there a better way to access my files?

I recommend connecting the SSD as a secondary drive in a working PC rather than trying to boot from it. This way, you can easily access all your files without risking any issues that might arise from the changes in hardware. If you want to be extra cautious, you could also use a SATA to USB adapter to connect it externally and pull your data that way. It's simpler and reduces the chances of running into boot problems.
Thanks for the tip! I definitely want to make sure I secure my data without any complications.
