Hey everyone! I need some serious help. I was trying to set up Open Razer on my Mint PC, and in the process, my ethernet connection just stopped working completely. I've tried all the usual fixes: updating drivers, uninstalling new stuff, turning off my VPN, checking its settings, rolling back my system, and even messing around in the BIOS. I ended up backing up my files and did a fresh install of Mint, but I'm still having the same issue—my Realtek ethernet adapter says it's down and won't connect, though Wi-Fi works fine. I've checked the cable and it seems okay, but I'm hesitant to replace it until I'm sure that's the problem. I'm really at my wit's end here. What should I do?

When my ethernet stops working, I usually start by resetting the three boxes the cable TV company gives you. It sounds simple, but it can solve a lot of issues. Also, you might want to test if another Linux distro works with ethernet through a live USB. If that works, it’s likely a driver issue with Mint.
That makes sense! My partner's PC is using ethernet without issues, so I suspect it's a driver problem too. I just wish I could nail it down; I thought starting fresh would fix everything!
