Can Malware on One OS Affect My Dual-Boot Setup?

Hey everyone! I'm dual-booting Linux and Windows on separate SSDs, mainly to play games like Rainbow Six Siege, which has anti-cheat features. I'm wondering if malware infecting either my Windows or Linux system could harm the other OS. Am I safe from cross-contamination, or should I be worried?

It's really unlikely for malware to target Linux systems in general. Most of the time, if you mess up big time on Windows, you can just format the Windows drive without affecting Linux.

So, if my Windows gets really messed up, I can just reset it and keep using Linux without issues?

Generally, malware from one OS shouldn't affect the other, especially if you're careful about your browsing habits. Just practice safe computing and you should be good!

True! If you're worried, consider encrypting your data partitions for extra security.
