I've been having a huge issue with my computer running Windows 11. When I try to shut it down, it just turns off the screen but doesn't actually power down at all. Restarting takes an eternity too, and even booting up to BIOS is incredibly slow. I'm always forced to shut it down by unplugging it or pressing the power button. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this?

You might also want to consider that it could be a problem with either software or hardware. If the fast startup doesn't resolve it, a clean install of Windows could help. Just make sure to back up your data before deleting any partitions. Sometimes a fresh install is what it takes to fix a borked OS!
It sounds like your PC is using a feature called "Fast Startup," which can sometimes prevent it from shutting down properly. You can disable it by going into Control Panel > Power Options. Then, click on "Choose what the power buttons do," and go to "Change settings that are currently unavailable." From there, uncheck the box that says "Turn on fast startup (recommended)" and save your changes. If that doesn’t help, you might need to check your BIOS settings for power states and ensure it's set to S0, which is the active state.
