I'm a senior developer from Egypt with over two years of experience using Unity, and I'm looking to create a new 8 pool game with entirely different rules that aren't known elsewhere (it's called "twenty" in Egypt, especially in Port Said). I want to know if this fresh concept could become popular and profitable, even though my project may not meet high quality due to limited resources and no team to help me. Also, I've put significant effort into this game—will I see a return on that investment? I'm open to hearing everyone's opinions! P.S. Sorry for my English, it's not my first language.

Honestly, very few indie games manage to break even. It's usually better to keep your day job and develop this as a hobby without pouring in a lot of money. Use free tools like Blender and Krita to cut costs. If your game doesn't sell, at least you wouldn't be too upset since you didn't invest much, just your time. To help it succeed, focus on filling a niche, promoting it well, making it enjoyable, visually appealing, and building a community around it.
I totally agree with your points! Just to add, the experience you'll gain from making this game can be extremely valuable. You never know what new skills or insights you might acquire along the way. OP, I don’t know much about your situation, but I encourage you to go for it! Just don't be too hard on yourself if things don’t work out. Sometimes, it's worth it to take risks!
Thanks for your insights, but I feel uncertain. One of my friends thinks people won’t download my game since there's already a popular 8 pool game from Miniclip. Plus, with exams and my busy schedule, I'm worried I won't have time or see any profit from such an effort. Any thoughts on that?
