I have a Victus 15 that experienced a Blue Screen of Death (BOD) issue. I took it to a repair shop, and they checked the motherboard. They claimed to have fixed the motherboard problem, but since the laptop suffered a short, they mentioned that the CPU could also be affected. They recommended reballing the CPU but strongly suggested that I should replace it instead. I'm wondering if replacing just the CPU could be a viable fix, or if I should consider replacing the entire motherboard instead?

Honestly, going for a new or used motherboard might end up being cheaper and more reliable than messing around with reballing the CPU. If the motherboard has already been problematic, that could save you more headaches in the long run. Plus, you might get a more stable performance out of a new board.
But if the CPU is also on the fritz, wouldn’t it be better to just replace that instead? I mean, sometimes it’s worth trying to keep costs down.
