What skills should I focus on next as a first-year IT student?

Hey folks! I'm wrapping up my first year in B.E. IT and I'm starting to feel like what we learn in college might not be enough for landing a job later on. I want to dive into some additional skills or certifications, but I'm a bit lost on where to begin. Some friends are picking up DevOps, UI/UX design, and getting into freelancing. I did the AWS Cloud Practitioner course before and enjoyed it, but now I'm uncertain about what step to take next or how to build on that knowledge. As a total beginner, any suggestions on paths to explore, what's beginner-friendly, or areas with good job prospects would be super helpful. Thanks a ton!

Since you liked the AWS Cloud Practitioner course, consider pursuing more advanced AWS certifications or start creating small projects using AWS services. Cloud computing skills are in high demand right now. You might also want to get comfortable with a programming language like Python, which is versatile for cloud applications and other tech areas. Just focus on one path that really interests you and dive deep into it!

That makes sense! But as a beginner, I’m not sure how to start building projects. Should I learn programming first? If so, which language would you recommend?
