I recently discovered that my SSD has failed on my Acer Swift 3 314-57G laptop. My service technician recommended I go for an NVMe 2280 M.2 SSD, single-sided, and stated that I can choose any brand. I would appreciate your suggestions since I use my laptop for online meetings, research with many tabs open, and some gaming like Europa Universalis IV. Thanks for any help you can provide!

That sounds like a solid recommendation! It's a good move to look for an NVMe M.2 SSD. They really help with fast load times and multitasking, especially for your needs.
Definitely take a look at Gen 3 SSDs, especially single-sided ones. Based on some teardown videos I've watched, the Swift 3's cooling isn't stellar, so that could be the way to go.
Got it! I'm leaning towards 512GB options like the Samsung 980 or the Crucial P3. The OEM was Kingston, so I was wondering if those would fit.
I agree, but I'm a bit unsure about which brand to choose. Is there any issue with compatibility between Gen 3 and Gen 4?
