Help! My New PC Won’t Boot – CPU Light Is On

I recently built a PC with my friend, but I'm hitting a snag because it won't boot. I've double-checked all the connections and reseated everything, yet there's still a persistent white light on the motherboard indicating a CPU issue. Here are my specs: MSI B550-A Pro motherboard, Ryzen 7 3700x processor, RX 6600 graphics card, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB NVMe drive. I believe all the parts are compatible, but I'm not entirely sure. Can anyone advise me on what steps I should take to get it to boot into the BIOS?

Try removing the heat sink and cleaning off the thermal paste. After that, carefully take out the CPU and reseat it. If you manage to get past the CPU light, don't forget to apply fresh thermal paste before reinstalling the heat sink.

I’ve actually reseated the CPU twice already, so I don't think that's the issue.

You might want to check if you’re missing an extra 8-pin power connector for the motherboard. It’s a common oversight when building PCs. Make sure to connect all necessary power cables, including any additional ones that your motherboard may require.

Yeah, on your motherboard, it's often labeled as Cpu_pwr1. Just ensure that’s plugged in!
