What job roles should I pursue as a fresher if not DevOps?

I recently asked about DevOps roles and it seems they mainly require experienced professionals. As I'm looking to start my career and get a job within the next 6-7 months in Europe, I'm curious about other job positions I could pursue that aren't oversaturated. I have a good grasp of networking, operating systems, Linux, Git, and Docker. Any suggestions on what I should focus on?

Look into learning Kubernetes (k8s) and Terraform. A Junior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) position might also be a good fit for you!

Considering your skills, you might want to look into becoming a System Administrator. It's a solid entry point and can lead to opportunities in more specialized roles later on.

Check out this GitHub repo: [DevOps Learn By Doing](https://github.com/dth99/DevOps-Learn-By-Doing). It has a great collection of free DevOps labs and projects that emphasize hands-on experience, which will definitely help you build the skills you need.

It's a bit confusing with DevOps needing experience while junior roles are hard to find. You could consider positions like a Junior Cloud Engineer, as many companies incorporate dev teams handling everything. Just be aware that these roles may also require a wider range of skills.

If you're open to learning, I highly recommend aiming for a developer position at a startup. You’ll get exposure to the whole stack and can rapidly gain experience, even if some aspects of those jobs aren't great, like pay and work-life balance.
