Hey everyone! I've been running with 16GB of RAM for a couple of years and I'm starting to feel like it's not cutting it anymore, especially with recent games pushing the limits. I'm considering upgrading to 32GB but have no clue what the prices look like these days. I want a good balance between cost and performance, and RGB isn't something I care about. Here's my current build: Ryzen 5 5600, RTX 4070 Super, and of course, the 16GB of RAM. Any recommendations? Thanks a lot!

Honestly, anything in the 3200 to 3600MHz range is solid. I’d recommend sticking with brands like Corsair, G.Skill, or Crucial; they tend to have good reliability. You should be able to find decent pairs for around $60-$70. I just got some 3600MHz for about $50, so it’s worth shopping around!

If you're already reaching around 16GB of usage, then going for 32GB is a good call! Look for some CL16 3200MHz RAM—it's pretty affordable and gives you great value for money. If you’re not actually hitting 16GB often, though, it might be worth waiting. More RAM doesn't really boost performance unless you need it.

You might not see a huge performance boost just by doubling your RAM, especially if you’re not hitting the limits yet. But keep in mind that gaming, along with other programs like Discord and your browser, can use a lot of memory these days. DDR4 prices are pretty low right now, especially for 3200-3600MHz CL16 or CL18 RAM.

Just go with 3200MHz or 3600MHz dual sticks. They’re typically easier to set up and run at higher speeds than quad sticks. You can find 32GB DDR4 for under $80, which is a sweet deal!

For solid performance, I'd suggest the G.Skill Ripjaw V 3600—no RGB, just reliable specs. Avoid XMP ones that prioritize Intel since you’re on Ryzen. Just check your current RAM usage with Task Manager; if you often hit or exceed 14GB, then upgrading makes sense.
