Hey everyone! I'm wrapping up my build with the 9800x3d and 5080 and could really use some insights from those who have more experience. I'm particularly concerned about whether all my selected parts will work together without any hitches. I've sourced these components at what I believe are the best prices available in my area, even though some items are still a bit pricey. If you have any advice on potential improvements or problems I should be aware of, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much! You might want to look into choosing some 6000CL30 or even 6000CL28 RAM. Honestly, brand isn’t a big deal, so just pick what suits you. One thing to note is that your CPU cooler is pretty large and may block the RGB lighting on the RAM. So, consider either going for an AIO cooler or a smaller CPU cooler, or you could opt for some non-RGB RAM. Also, if the B850 motherboards are close in price, it’s worth it to go for one of those instead; you'll have a better experience overall.
Yeah, going with better RAM timings can help a lot with performance! CL36 is generally okay, but for Ryzen, lower latency like CL30 is better. Just keep that in mind when building.
I checked out your build and made some slight tweaks. I opted for CL30 RAM, a cheaper SSD, and a better motherboard. You can see my recommendations here: [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DnCzxg](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DnCzxg). Hope it helps!
Is CL36 not compatible with Ryzen? Or is it just a performance issue? I’m kinda curious about this. Also, I found some plain RAM for around $100 with a discount, which is why I considered it. Plus, I got a combo deal with a 9800x3d for the B650 which was cheaper than buying everything separately. Do you think the B850 would give any substantial performance or reliability improvements? Thanks!
