I'm heading away for about a week and I want to keep my PC and monitor in the closet since I'm a bit paranoid about break-ins. I've elevated the PC and even put a bowl of dried rice in there to hopefully absorb any moisture. I've also made sure to keep clothes away from it. My main concern is humidity and potential damage. Everything is unplugged, and the closet itself is reinforced, which is why I think it's a safer option than leaving it out in the open.

Honestly, don’t stress it too much! Just unplug everything and it should be fine. The humidity shouldn’t be a big issue unless you have extreme temperature changes. And come on, would you really hide your TV with a bowl of rice? Just enjoying your vacation is key!
It sounds like you're super careful, which is great! If the PC isn't running, you shouldn't have any major issues. Just remember that if someone breaks in, they might check the closet too, but at least it sounds well-hidden!
I get that, it's definitely a worry! But hey, just being smart about it. You're doing all the right things!
Dude, rice doesn’t really dehumidify, but it’s all good! Electronics can handle a little moisture just fine as long as they’re not powered on. Just enjoy your trip and don’t worry too much!
Thanks for the heads-up! It helps to know I'm not being overly cautious.
Haha, I’d never hide my TV that way! But I appreciate the reassurance.
