Should I Upgrade My 2017 Gaming PC or Replace Everything?

Hey everyone, I've got a gaming rig from 2017 with a Ryzen 5 1600x, an ASUS ROG Strix B350-F motherboard, a GTX 1080 Ti graphics card, a 256GB M.2 NVMe SSD, a 2TB HDD, 16GB of 3200 RAM, and a 650W PSU powered by a Noctua NH-U12A CPU cooler. Lately, I've been experiencing crashes in some of my games, and I'm wondering if I should upgrade certain parts or just start fresh with a new build. Any advice?

Your motherboard is likely from the 100 or 200 series, which limits your upgrade options on the AM4 platform. I suggest getting a new CPU, motherboard, and RAM. Keep using your GPU and storage drives for now, and maybe think about a new PSU if your current one is questionable. And don't forget to grab a new CPU cooler while you're at it!

Sorry forgot to put it. It's there now.

Honestly, it's probably best to replace most of your components, but you might want to keep the NVMe drive if you think it'll last. Since your RAM is DDR4, you could reuse that with a new motherboard, but given that everything is around 6 years old, consider swapping the RAM too. Just to be safe!
