Hey everyone! I've been struggling with a frustrating issue for months now. Whenever I power on my PC, I'm greeted with a black screen, and neither my keyboard nor mouse lights up (they flash on briefly before shutting off). The PC itself runs fine—RGB lights are on, coolers are spinning—but no display.
The only workaround I've discovered is to turn off the PC, remove the CMOS battery, unplug it from power, and press the power button to discharge the motherboard. Once I plug everything back in, it finally boots to BIOS, not Windows. From there, I have to manually select the boot option, even though it's the only one available.
I've tried downloading Windows 10 while currently using Windows 11, but that's been a dead end too since I run into the black screen issue during restarts. I suspect it might be a motherboard or disk issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

It sounds like you might need to replace your CMOS battery. When the battery is low, it can cause boot issues. If the battery replacement doesn’t help, it could point to other problems with your motherboard.
In case this helps anyone, I had a similar issue, and it turned out to be a problem with the CPU. When I removed it and reseated it, everything started working again. I think some thermal paste may have gotten into the CPU socket! Keep that in mind if you're comfortable opening up your PC.
I don't think it's just the battery since I have to remove it just to boot into BIOS. That's what's making me suspect the motherboard itself.
