I've got a 10-year-old PC that's really showing its age, especially with an Intel i5-6600k. My GTX 1080 is still good enough for gaming, but I want to upgrade so I can play modern games at 1440p and hit at least 60 fps. Right now, I'm struggling with games like Satisfactory, which is only running at 20 fps due to my CPU being a bottleneck. My budget is €2000, and I just need the PC itself – no peripherals. I'm looking for help to make my current build more cost-effective and slightly future-proof.

Your build has a lot of potential, but you might want to rethink those component choices a bit. Higher-end CPUs like the Ryzen 9 don’t necessarily mean better gaming, especially when the 7600X will save you some cash while still delivering a solid performance. Also, check up on the GPU market; prices can fluctuate a lot.
I completely agree that you can cut costs. For starters, the Noctua cooler is great but overpriced; look for a less expensive brand that still performs well. You also probably don’t need 64GB of RAM unless you're really pushing heavy workloads alongside gaming. The Samsung 990 Pro is a fantastic SSD, but it's quite pricey. Check out other brands that offer similar speeds for less. And hey, don’t stress too much about future-proofing; it’s tough to predict tech trends!
Great points! Also, I’d advise letting everyone know your location because the prices vary greatly by region. It seems like you're in Germany—this could affect your component availability and pricing.
Honestly, I think you're already close with your build. But you might want to swap that Ryzen 9 for either the 7600X or 7800X3D for better gaming performance. It doesn’t make much sense to go for the Ryzen 9 here since it’s not a huge upgrade for gaming. Also, the motherboard choice seems a bit overkill; you could save money with a regular B650 board instead of the fancy B650E. And for cooling, consider the Peerless Assassin cooler—it’s solid and more budget-friendly!
Just a heads-up, it looks like the 4070 Ti's price has gone way up. You might want to keep an eye on that and look for alternatives if the price is above your budget.
Thanks for the feedback! It’s my first time building a PC, and I really appreciate the guidance on AMD CPUs.
