So, I just discovered that movers accidentally spilled some very fine glitter into my desktop computer, and I'm freaking out a bit. I don't want to use compressed air because I'm worried that it will just blow the glitter around my room. Would it be safe to use a vacuum cleaner instead? Do I need a special anti-static vacuum for this? And most importantly, if I run my PC with the glitter still inside, is there a chance it could fry my components? Any advice on how to clean this up would be super appreciated!

Yeah, I recommend taking it outside and using a blower if you've got one. It’s cleaner and can really help clear out the glitter without making a mess in your room. Just be careful with using canned air, as it can spit liquid if not used properly. As for vacuums, they can potentially create static, so a specialized anti-static one would be best if you have access to it.
First off, you definitely shouldn't run your computer with the glitter still in there! It can cause some serious damage. A good start is to unplug everything to keep it safe. Then, take a regular vacuum and try to get as much of the glitter out as you can. You might have to remove parts from your case to really reach everything. After that, using an air compressor outside is a solid way to blow out any remaining bits, but just make sure it's set up safely to avoid spraying any moisture.
How did the movers even manage to spill glitter in your computer? That sounds wild! I didn’t even know they would be handling anything like that. But yeah, glitter is notoriously hard to clean up. Once you get everything out and vacuumed, definitely give it a good blow with some air outside. Just make sure to check for any glitter stuck in places you can't see, like the power supply.
Haha, I know right? Apparently, my partner had a stash of glitter that was being packed up with the computer. Total mess!
