Hey everyone! I'm 40 years old and have always wanted to dive into the world of computers, but I've been intimidated for a long time. Recently, I built my first computer, which sparked my interest in learning more, especially programming. I'm considering taking CS50 or CS50x to kickstart my journey, but I'm not sure if that's the best route for someone like me. I currently work in a skilled trade, but due to back issues, I need a change. I know it won't be easy, especially starting at my age, but I'm ready to put in the effort. Any advice on whether CS50 is a good place to start or suggestions for other resources? Thanks in advance!

CS50 is great, but remember that any learning is good! The programming world is huge, and just following your interests will lead you to most of the key skills you’ll need down the line. Keep reading and watching content that excites you—you’ll be learning before you know it!
CS50 is a fantastic choice! You’ll also want to check out platforms like Udemy, Udacity, and CodeAcademy for more options. There are tons of resources available to get you started, so don't stress too much about which one to pick—just start exploring!
CS50x is a solid intro course. It’s developed for Harvard's students but you can take it for free online, which is pretty great! It’s self-paced, so you have until the end of the year to finish. Just be ready for the programming assignments—they can get complex, but that’s where the real learning happens!
Definitely consider CS50 or CS50x! Being around others who think like developers can really help, especially during interviews. It might be tough initially, but if you stay committed, you could be quite comfortable in a tech career in a few years. Also, think about looking for paid internships or apprenticeships—having guidance from experienced colleagues can really help you focus your learning.
Absolutely go for CS50! It's fast-paced and a bit challenging, especially after the first few weeks, but it’s a great way to see if you really enjoy programming. Plus, the challenges can help you figure out your interest level and skills.
