I'm in the process of building my PC with a Ryzen 7 9700X and I'm considering a couple of cooling options. I was initially planning to buy the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE White for about 45 euros. However, I also found the Thermalright Frozen Edge 360 White for around 60 euros. Is the 360 AIO cooler a better choice compared to the Peerless Assassin? I'm not really sure about the advantages of fan cooling versus water cooling, but I'd like to ensure I get something with good performance and durability.

I agree. You could cool the 9700X effectively with a good single-tower 120mm air cooler. If you’re not planning on doing heavy overclocking, air cooling is definitely enough.
Honestly, the Ryzen 7 9700X has a 65W TDP, so you don't really need to go all out with a water cooler. A simple air cooler, like the Peerless Assassin, should do just fine and it'll help you save some cash. Many users have reported good performance with just a decent air cooler for this CPU.
That makes sense! I was worried about heating issues, especially with PBO, but maybe I won't need to stress about the cooling as much.
