Looking for a Better CPU Cooler Than Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE?

I've got a Corsair 4000D Airflow case, and I'm on the hunt for a cooler that's better than my current Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE. My CPU runs up to 80°C while gaming, and I've read that my cooler is among the top performers even if it's a bit older. I don't want to spend over $100 for just a slight improvement. So, I'm curious if there are better options out there! Also, please avoid suggesting liquid coolers with three fans since my large GPU won't allow that.

While 80°C is okay for most CPUs, it’d be great to know your CPU model for tailored suggestions. If you’re using a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, there are a few options you might look into!

Yeah, I'm leaning towards Thermalright. Noctua's great, but their cost just doesn't make sense for my needs.

Consider upgrading just the fans on your cooler! High-quality fans like the Phanteks T30 really boost airflow. Alternatively, trying to rearrange your fan setup might help; positioning an intake fan closer to your CPU could lower temperatures.

Have you tried reapplying thermal paste? It can make a noticeable difference. Also, check your case fans to ensure they're set up for optimal airflow; airflow plays a huge role in cooling performance. Honestly, there aren't many air coolers better than what you have already.

You might want to check the latest Thermalright models like the Peerless Assassin 140 or the Royal Praetor 130, although there might be some quality control issues with them. The Noctua NH-D15 is awesome but on the pricier side.

You're right; I did that recently. Just trying to find the best air cooler without breaking the bank!

Thanks for the reminder; it’s the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.
