Why is FindMy App Using So Much Data?

Hey everyone! I'm a student in the UK and I have a monthly data allowance of 25GB with EE, my phone carrier. I've noticed that the FindMy app is eating up a whopping 11GB of data in just under a month! I have four items tracked on it, but two of them show 'no location found', so I'm not really using them heavily. Does it typically require this much data to function? Is there any way to turn it off or limit its data usage? I also use a VPN mainly to block ads on streaming platforms—could that be affecting the data consumption? My phone is fully updated, so I'm not sure what's going on. I'd really appreciate any insights!

That's a lot of data for the FindMy app! It could be that you're downloading maps frequently or that firmware updates for your devices are being included in that data usage. I suggest you keep an eye on it next month to see if the usage decreases. Also, you can disable cellular data for FindMy in your phone’s settings to help manage your data better.

I don’t even have AirTags, just my phone and AirPods on there, so I’m not sure what’s up!
