I'm trying to clone a 5TB WD Passport drive to make it bootable so I can use it with computers that don't have hard drives. However, I hit a snag when I realized that cloning would clear the entire drive. After some research, I discovered that if I remove the partition letter, the computer won't read that part of the drive. Now I'm in Disk Genius, which says it can create a bootable drive, but it's also going to format the free space. I'm really worried because I have about 3TB of old movies and shows from my childhood on that drive. My dad gifted it to me, so I'm anxious about potentially losing everything. Is the free partition going to be deleted during this process?

If that drive holds your only copy of important files, it's crucial to back it up elsewhere before proceeding with any cloning or formatting operations.
Yeah, I totally get what you mean! It's tough to have another drive just lying around for backup. This drive is basically my backup too, so the stakes are high. Thanks for the heads up!
