Why Does My Gaming PC Keep Crashing During Gameplay?

Hey everyone! I recently bought a used gaming PC off eBay and I've been experiencing a lot of crashes while playing various games. I even did a full wipe of the system, but the issues persist. Here are my specs:

- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 5 5600x (boost clock 4.6GHz)
- **Motherboard**: MSI mag tomahawk Wifi
- **SSDs**: Sabrent rocket 4.0 500GB (OS), Sabrent rocket PCIE 4 2TB, Crucial SATA MX500 2TB
- **CPU Cooler**: Lian Li Galahad 360mm
- **GPU**: EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 XC3 Ultra 10GB
- **RAM**: 32GB Corsair vengeance pro RGB (4 x 8GB) 3600MHz
- **Case**: Lian Li cool mesh
- **Fans**: 5 Corsair 11120 (Intake on bottom, outtake on top)
- **Power Supply**: Corsair RM 850x (80 Plus Gold, fully modular)

I'm having crashes during simple games occasionally, but more frequently while playing modded Skyrim, Dune Awakening, and even on lower settings in GTA. I suspect it might be the CPU, as it spikes to around 98% usage during gaming. I'd really appreciate any advice you might have to help me resolve these issues. Also, please keep it simple as I'm not very tech-savvy. Thanks!

Considering you have four sticks of RAM, it might help to lower the RAM speed a bit. If that doesn't fix the issue, try using just two RAM sticks at a time. Sometimes four sticks can cause compatibility issues. Just double-check your motherboard's manual for the correct slots to use. Also, you might want to take a look at the thermal paste on your CPU; old paste can lead to overheating too.

Thanks for the tips! I'm a bit hesitant since I haven't built a PC before. Do you think it's something I can figure out through a YouTube tutorial?

First off, have you updated your GPU drivers? It’s usually the first step. Also, are you monitoring the temperatures while gaming? Keeping an eye on those can be really helpful to spot any overheating issues.

Yes, my GPU drivers are up to date, but I'm not sure how to monitor the temperatures.
